It never tangles or jams up. I've had hand surgery and it's hard for me to find things that are comfortable for me to grip but this leash is perfect for me. All the leashes I looked at in stores only went up to 100-110 pounds, not nearly enough for my 160 pound mastiff who likes to jump and pull and lunge at every passing car (we're working on that). If it's strong enough for him it should be strong enough for just about any dog.
